All this about piano. Imagine what calming emotions a violin or a clarinet could conjure up . . . whilst the clarinet would be problematic if trying to start a conversation. :)

As a fellow wandering European traveller, I have loved the random pianos being played around train stations in France. They add a magic to old buildings full of present day bustling atmosphere

Depending on the musician playing the piano, I have found that it add a different atmosphere and mood which can change the way you look as the buildings as you walk through them. The variance of the repertoire makes it easy to return to the same places but with newfound perspective during each visit.
